A must-have for any bathroom

So this should be added to the list of weird blog entries…

I did something today that just totally flipped my mind, and I just have to share it. I cleaned my bathtub! No, that’s not what I mean. I should mention that the apartment building I live in was built in the 60′s, I’m guessing. Perhaps earlier? Anyway, so all the fixtures and other fine amenities are junk at this point — specifically, the bathtub.

There’s this nasty line of sediment and calcium running down the front of the bathtub around the air vent and drain where years of running water has left its mark. I’m a pretty clean person, but there’s just some things that can’t be cleaned. Or so I thought.

The potty was pretty grubby — it, too, as you may well guess, had a bad ring inside. I used Lysol’s Professional Toilet Bowl Cleaner (not the one with bleach), and the ring went away like magic. I then began to, perhaps, think that I’d imagined the ring, or that it wasn’t that bad, or whatever. Either way, the toilet looks new. But this was more than a year ago.

Today, I decided to clean the bathtub with the toilet cleaner instead of the spray bleach I usually use. I figured it’d be easier to use because it’s very thick, blue, and thus easier to use for scrubbing. Guess what! It took ALL of that calcium and sedimentation out of the tub! Yes, sir, it sure did!

Sorry to make a plug about a toilet cleaner, but I just can’t hold it in. All I wanted to do was give the tub it’s usual scrub-down, and I ended up making it look like new. So what I did for the toilet wasn’t just my imagination! I believe I’ll be buying a case of that stuff ans squirting some on the shower walls to try to get that tile clean too. Why buy a case, you may ask? Well, I operate on the premise that Lysol will realize they have an excellent product on the shelf and decide to stop offering it.

Remember, it’s the Lysol Professional Toilet Cleaner, and it’s NOT the one with bleach. I remain impressed…
